In the process of describing an entrepreneurship, its necessary to realize in which type of entrepreneurial activity the business is placed. For this, it should be taken as classifying reference to macro-economic activities that tend to be carried out in the country – agriculture, industry and services – each one has its characteristics that the entrepreneur must know about.

Each economic activity has its own specifications, so the entrepreneur must be aware of the characteristics that tend to govern, like basic and strategic requirements. 

 

Basic Requirements 

-       Design of the productive process according to the economic activity (step by step process)

-       Consideration of the resources that the entrepreneurship needs for its operation (list of resources)

-       Productive planning adjusted to the operation of the forces that characterize the economic sector

The basic requirements will be different depending on the type of entrepreneurial activity, for example: 

-       In services: human knowledge is the factor that trends

-       In industrial: intensive use of labor (physical) and the use of machines and equipment

-       In agriculture: intensive use of labor (physical) and the use of machines and equipment

 

Strategic Requirements

It’s important that the entrepreneur worries about identifying the key factors for the development of each type of economic activity. These factors guide the managers to understand to perfection the economic activity in which they are involved, and to know what a priority for the competitive success is.

 

These factors vary according to the type of entrepreneurial activity, and also from one era to other within the same activity as driving forces and competitive conditions change. For example:

-       The geographical location is a key factor.
